Traverse surveying mein kuch connected points ke beech angles aur distances ko measure kiya jata hai. Yeh points ko stations kehte hain aur unhe theodolite, transit, ya modern total station se connect kiya jata hai. Traverse ka use complex shapes wale areas ko accurately map karne ke liye hota hai.

Closed Traverse

Closed traverse mein starting point aur ending point ek hi hote hain. Yeh method zyada accurate hota hai kyunki calculations ko verify kiya ja sakta hai. Engineering projects, property surveys, aur construction sites mein iska upyog hota hai.

Open Traverse

Open traverse mein starting point aur ending point alag hote hain. Yeh method kam accurate hota hai lekin aasaan hota hai. Long strip surveys aur exploratory surveys mein iska use hota hai.

Traverse ka Process

Surveyors ne sabse pehle traverse line ko select karna hota hai. Phir theodolite ko har station par rakhkar horizontal angles measure karte hain. Saath hi tape measure se distances bhi calculate karte hain.

Angle measurements mein ya to face left method use hota hai ya face right method. Distances ko chain, tape, ya electronic distance meter se measure kiya jata hai. Modern surveys mein GPS aur laser rangefinders ka bhi use hota hai.

Calculations aur Adjustments

Traverse ke data ko process karne ke liye bearing calculations karte hain. Coordinates calculate karne se pehle closing error ko check karte hain. Agar closed traverse hai to sum of interior angles ka formula use hote hain:

Interior angle sum = (n - 2) × 180°

jahan n = sides ki sankhya hai.

Yadi error acceptable range mein ho to adjustment kiya jata hai. Bowditch method, transit rule, ya least squares method se adjustment possible hai.
